Mahindra XUV300 EV to Hit Roads by June 2024, Taking on Nexon EV

In an electrifying revelation, Mahindra is all set to launch the XUV300 EV by June 2024, stepping into direct competition with the successful Nexon EV. With an innovative design, robust features, and a powerful electric powertrain, the XUV300 EV aims to revolutionize the mass-market electric SUV segment.

Design Revamped for a Bold Statement

Drawing inspiration from the upcoming facelift of the XUV300, the EV variant promises a fresh and modern appearance. Notable updates include a distinctive drop-down LED daytime running lamp, a redesigned bumper, and headlamp assembly. The two-part grille with a central air intake adds a touch of sophistication. At the rear, a full-width LED light bar, C-shaped tail-lamps, and a relocated registration plate on the bumper contribute to an enhanced aesthetic.

Interior Innovation: Infotainment and Space

While the XUV300 EV's interior maintains continuity with its ICE-powered counterpart, expect a larger infotainment screen for an enhanced driving experience. Mild alterations to the dashboard, including repositioning AC vents and minor switchgear changes, pave the way for a more sophisticated cabin. Although slightly smaller in boot space compared to the XUV400 EV, it aligns with the sub-4m XUV300's compact dimensions.

Strategic Positioning and Pricing

Mahindra strategically positions the XUV300 EV just below the XUV400 EV, providing a more competitive edge in the market. Priced between Rs 15 lakh-17 lakh (ex-showroom), it positions itself as an attractive alternative, offering a cost advantage of approximately Rs 2 lakh compared to its larger counterpart.

Power Play: The Heart of the XUV300 EV

Under its hood beats a 35kWh battery, slightly smaller than its XUV400 EV sibling. While details on range and electric motor specifications are yet to surface, Mahindra's commitment to electrification is evident in the XUV300 EV's formidable powertrain.

Price Point and Launch Anticipation

Positioned strategically below the XUV400 EV, the XUV300 EV is expected to carry a price tag ranging from Rs 15 lakh to 17 lakh (ex-showroom). This positions it as a more accessible alternative, approximately Rs 2 lakh less than its larger counterpart. Excitement is building, with the official announcement of the XUV300 EV's price expected by June 2024. Prior to the EV's debut, the XUV300 facelift with petrol and diesel engines is set to hit the market around February 2024.
