Mahindra Scorpio N Z8 L Waiting Period Decreases by 5 Months

Mahindra has recently announced an increase in production and deliveries, resulting in a decrease in the order backlog. Despite this, the Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N remain highly sought after, with over 100,000 combined open bookings as of January 2024.

Scorpio N Waiting Period

The waiting period for the Scorpio N has seen a significant decrease compared to a few months ago. As indicated in the table below, the maximum waiting period for lower variants is now up to six months, while mid-spec variants average about four months. Top-spec variants have experienced the most substantial drop, with waiting periods now averaging just two or three months, down from a maximum of eight months in November 2023.

Scorpio N Waiting Period - February 2024

The waiting periods for various variants of the vehicle vary across models. For the Z2 variant, customers can expect to wait between 5 to 6 months for Petrol MT and 4 to 5 months for Diesel MT, while there is no specified waiting period for Petrol AT and Diesel AT. The Z4 variant entails a waiting period of about 4 to 5 months for Petrol MT, 5 to 6 months for Petrol AT, and 5 to 6 months for both Diesel MT and Diesel AT. Waiting periods for the Z6 variant are not specified for Petrol MT and Petrol AT, but range from 4 to 5 months for Diesel MT and 3 to 4 months for Diesel AT. Lastly, the Z8 and Z8L variants have waiting periods ranging from 2 to 4 months, with slight variations across different engine and transmission configurations.

The Scorpio N offers a choice of two engines: a 203hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 175hp, 2.2-litre turbo-diesel. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, with 4WD available only for diesel engines. Prices range from Rs 13.60 lakh to Rs 24.54 lakh, ex-showroom.

Scorpio Classic Waiting Period

The waiting period for the Scorpio Classic remains relatively stable, with up to three months for the base variant and up to five months for the top-spec S11 variant. This waiting period has not changed significantly since November last year.

The waiting periods for the Scorpio Classic vary based on the variant. For the S variant, customers can expect a waiting period of 2 to 3 months, while the top-spec S11 variant entails a longer wait of 4 to 5 months.

The Scorpio Classic is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 132hp and 300Nm of torque. Paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, it does not offer an automatic gearbox or 4x4 option like the Scorpio N. Prices range from Rs 13.59 lakh to Rs 17.35 lakh, ex-showroom.

During its recent earnings call, Mahindra revealed that the Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N are among its most popular models, receiving approximately 16,000 bookings per month combined, surpassing even the XUV700 and Thar in popularity.
