Mahindra Scorpio N Features Adjusted in IMCR Change – Full Details

Scorpio N has been a huge success for Mahindra ever since the company launched its booking portal in India. As a D-segment SUV, Scorpio N has garnered an impeccable fan following, experiencing exceptional popularity and demand, leading to an increasing waiting period. However, along with this rise in demand, the prices for Scorpio N have been on the upward trajectory, accompanied by a reduction in associated features.

Mahindra Scorpio N Z6, Z8 Variants Experience Feature Reduction

Even in foreign markets like Australasia, Scorpio N has received positive reception and is gaining popularity. In India, though, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) have been raising prices for their products, and concomitantly, features have seen a decline. The Z6 and Z8 variants of Scorpio N, known for being among the most popular value-for-money (VFM) options, have witnessed a reduction in features with the latest update.

As part of the routine Integrated Material Cost Reduction (IMCR) changes implemented for Scorpio N, Mahindra has made adjustments to features in the Z6 and Z8 trim levels. While there might be feature reductions in other trims as well, details are yet to emerge. Meanwhile, information about features being removed from Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8L trim levels has surfaced on the internet.

Recently, the Mahindra Scorpio-N 2022 Official Owner’s Group on Facebook posted a picture resembling a screenshot of Mahindra’s internal communication and this likely serves as a briefing for dealership personnel across India regarding these changes. The VIN cut-off for this IMCR change is MA1TJ2ZC6P6K91722.

Initially, Mahindra used to offer a cooled glovebox with Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8L trim levels. With the recent IMCR update, Z4 and Z6 no longer feature a cooled glovebox, while Z8 and Z8L continue to offer this convenience. Additionally, the Z6 trim, which previously featured a color TFT touchscreen with Adrenox Connect tech and Built-in Alexa support, has seen these features removed in this IMCR update.

Consequently, the Z6 trim now comes with the same monochrome 4.2-inch infotainment system as the Z4 trim, replacing the previous 7-inch color unit. These changes are applicable for new bookings made after January 1st, 2024. Bookings made before this date will receive features and equipment consistent with the MY2023 model.

Feature Deletions in Z8 and Z8L Trims

Over the past few months, Mahindra has been progressively removing features from both Z8 and Z8L trim levels. Features such as the passenger-side door request sensor have been removed from both Z8 and Z8L trims, and the number of rear parking sensors has been reduced from four to two. However, other features appear to remain similar to what was offered before, at least for now.

Mechanically, there are no changes, and Scorpio N continues to be powered by the same 2.0L petrol and 2.2L diesel engines, coupled with 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT transmissions. 4WD is exclusively offered with diesel variants, and all variants come with a standard RWD layout.
