Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India has announced a significant price reduction for its luxury SUV, the facelifted Velar, which was launched in the country in July 2023. The price has been slashed by Rs. 6.40 lakh, bringing the new ex-showroom price to Rs. 87,90,000.
Variants and Positioning
The Velar facelift is available in a single, fully loaded variant, offering both petrol and diesel powertrain options. Positioned between the Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover Sport the Velar offers a blend of luxury and performance.
Exterior and Interior Updates
The updated Velar features several aesthetic and technological enhancements. In addition to the wrap-around taillamps that accentuate its sophisticated look the SUV has new pixel LED headlamps, revised bumpers, and a redesigned front grille. On the inside, there's a new 11.4-inch curved touchscreen infotainment screen that supports wireless mobile connectivity.
Engine and Performance
Under the hood, the facelifted Velar offers two engine options:
- A 2.0-liter petrol engine produces 201bhp and 430Nm of torque.
- A 2.0-litre diesel engine delivering 296bhp and 400Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that distributes power to all four wheels through the brand's Terrain Response 2 system ensuring a smooth and capable driving experience.
For Indian purchasers of luxury SUVs, the facelifted Range Rover Velar is now even more appealing due to its price decrease. With its modern features, strong engine choices, and improved comfort and convenience the Velar is still a competitive option in the high-end SUV market.
