The production-ready model of 2022 KTM RC 200 was spotted for the first time back on December 25 last year and at that point of time, the next-gen model was expected to launch in the Indian markets by January or February 2021, but somehow it didn't happen.

Since then, there is no concrete update regarding the launch of the 200cc sportbike but in one of the latest updates, the official images of the 2022 RC 200 have leaked online, which means that KTM is all set to launch the sportbike very soon. Here are the official photos of the upcoming motorcycle:

If we talk about the design, the motorcycle features a huge front visor and a halogen headlight. Overall, the design looks pretty odd and unimpressive in comparison to the current-gen model of KTM RC 200. One of the major additions is that the new model of RC 200 now features an all-digital TFT console like we have on the Duke 390.

Apart from the front disc brake, the rest of the hardware components like the tyres, suspension, and exhaust system look more or less similar to the current-gen model of the RC 200. The motorcycle's fuel tank is now fully exposed, all due to the removal of a connecting part between the tank and fairing in favour of the straight flowing panels that directly connect with the face.

Mechanically, the 2022 KTM RC 200 would come equipped with the same 199.5cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine, which would come mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It is expected that KTM may also tweak the engine to generate slightly more power and torque. The current-gen model is good for a maximum power of 25HP along with a peak torque of 19.2 Nm. In terms of pricing, the 2022 model of RC 200 is expected to get an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 2.20-2.25 lakhs.
