As per the dealer sources and the company’s social media handles, the MY2022 KTM RC 390 is entering the Indian two-wheeler market really soon, most likely in the last week of this month. The company has not announced the launch date yet, but it is expected to schedule the launch soon. The 2022 model of KTM RC 390 is already available in selected global markets, but it is also worth noting that the India-spec model could rather be distinguished from the international model.

The 2022 KTM RC 390 has gone through a complete overhaul and gets a redesigned front fascia. The revamped model features a single pod headlight in the front, as opposed to the projector-style units on the old model. Speaking of more design updates, the new model has fairing-mounted rearview mirrors, an updated turn signal configuration, a more aerodynamic fairing design, a revised tail section, and a 13.7-litre fuel tank.

Aside from the above-mentioned changes, another interesting update is the exhaust system, which now gets a new stainless steel header pipe and an aluminium muffler, which results in reducing weight and making a more reminiscent soundtrack. When it comes to the powertrain, the forthcoming KTM RC 390 is likely to be powered by the 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which is capable of generating 43.5PS and 37Nm, which is 1Nm more than the current model.

In terms of standard features, the KTM RC 390 is anticipated to have full-LED lighting, switchable ABS, cornering traction control, Bluetooth-enabled colourful TFT display, a Quick-Shifter and more. In addition, other expected features are lighter alloys and a new seat setup. When we look at the internationally available model, the hardware configuration consists of compression and rebound-adjustable WP Apex USD fork and a WP Apex preload and rebound-adjustable mono-shock which is likely to continue in the India-spec model as well.

In terms of pricing, the 2022 KTM RC 390 is expected to launch in the Indian markets with an ex-showroom price tag of around Rs 2.90 lakhs. Once launched, it would be competing with the likes of the new TVS Apache RR 310.
