The side fairing of the motorcycle is White while the connecting panel gets finished in Gloss Black. The fuel tank is now finished in White with Orange and Black stripe on the top. The rear panel below the seat now carries Gloss Black stickers on it. The motorcycle even gets 12 mm of added padding to the rear seat, making rides easier for the pillion also. Riding position remains the same in 2017 KTM RC200.

The engine powering the RC 200 remains the same 199.5 cc, liquid cooled and fuel injected unit producing 25 PS at 10,000 rpm and 19.2 Nm at 8,000 rpm. The bike weighs 154 kg and carries the same 300mm/230mm disc brake combo for the braking duties. Sadly, KTM has still not equipped the RC 200 with ABS (Anti-lock Braking system), it is not even optional! The alloy wheels are finished Orange while the front fascia remains completely the same as 2016 model. The motorcycle rivals Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 and Honda CBR250R in its segment.
