Kia Cars Set to See Price Increase from April 2024

Kia, the Korean automaker, has announced a price hike for its models starting from 1st April 2024. This increase will affect all mass-market models, including popular vehicles like the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens, which will become up to 3 percent more expensive next month. This marks the first price hike for Kia models in 2024, following the last increase announced in October 2023.

Reasons Behind the Price Hike

The decision to raise prices comes in response to the escalating costs of commodities, rising input expenses, and supply chain-related factors. These factors have put pressure on the automotive industry, prompting Kia to adjust its prices to maintain profitability and continue providing high-quality products and services to its customers.

Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar, National Head of Sales and Marketing at Kia India, explained, "At Kia, we consistently strive to deliver premium and technologically advanced products to our esteemed customers. However, due to the continuous increase in commodity prices, adverse exchange rate and rising input cost, we are compelled to implement a partial price hike. The company is absorbing a significant portion of the increase, allowing customers to continue driving their favourite Kia cars without a major dent in their pockets."

Existing Price Range of Kia Cars

Currently, Kia offers four models in India, including the Kia EV6. Here is the existing price range of Kia cars:

  • Kia Sonet: Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 15.69 lakh

  • Kia Seltos: Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 20.30 lakh

  • Kia Carens: Rs 10.45 lakh to Rs 19.45 lakh

  • Kia EV6: Rs 60.95 lakh to Rs 65.95 lakh (All prices are ex-showroom Delhi)

Notably, the price hike will not apply to the Kia EV6, as it is not considered a mass-market model.

The Kia Sonet, which received a midlife update in January 2024, will also see the end of its introductory prices in April 2024. These upcoming launches demonstrate Kia's commitment to innovation and sustainability in the Indian market, as it continues to offer cutting-edge technology and premium vehicles to its customers.
