Jeep Grand Cherokee is finally now available with a petrol engine in India! It is priced at INR 75.15 lakhs (post-GST price). The Summit and limited edition variants of the Jeep Grand Cherokee are already available in the market but as Diesel trims. Currently the Jeep Cherokee SRT tops the range with a 6.4 litre V8 engine. Jeep has consciously made a decision to also launch smaller petrol engines, one being Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit variant. The Jeep Pentastar engine has 3.6 litre displacement which produces a maximum power of 290 bhp and a maximum torque of 347 Nm. It gets an 8-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. The Diesel version is also equipped with the same transmission. The new petrol version also gets 75th anniversary fascia with enhanced billet like plating on the grille slots. The 20-inch alloy wheels also gets a polished technical grey paint with air suspension and LED fog lamps. The SUV gets 3 driving modes, Parksense for rear park assist and acoustic windshield which helps reduce noise creeping in the cabin. Grand Cherokee Petrol also gets two new colours - Diamond Crystal Black and Velvet Red. The package also gets an Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP). It gets 4-wheel traction control and anti-lock 4-wheel disc brakes. The electronically adjustable front seats also get a 8 way power with additional memory package.  Jeep is known to roll out the best quality premium SUVs and the brand proves to be a niche product in itself with high quality features and industry defining design standards. The company hopes to carry the same image in India while finding a new footing in a potential market.
