According to a recent report by News18, the upcoming Jeep Compass SUV will be priced at INR 18 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base Sport model. The base model will be equipped with a 5-inch Touchscreen Infotainment System, 16-inch Steel Wheels, Halogen Headlamps, 2 Front Airbags, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Traction Control (TC), 4-disc Brakes, Electrically Adjustable Mirrors, Electrically Fold-able Mirrors, Electronic Parking Brakes, and All-Black Interiors.
Jeep Compass with initially be available with 2.0 litre 4-cylinder diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. This engine is good for 170 Bhp of maximum power and 350 Nm of maximum torque. Jeep will also launch Compass with 9-speed automatic gearbox early next year.
Previously, Compass was expected to go on-sale in India in August but as per the latest details available, it will now launch in the last week of this month. Some of the dealers in India will start showcasing the Compass in the showrooms from June 20. We recently spotted a multi-brand store in Phase-7, Mohali (Punjab), they will sell Jeep, Fiat, and Abarth cars in the same showroom.
