IBA SaddleSore 1600K: Shraiyans Mittal Rides 1754 kms in 24 hours on his Bajaj Avenger 220

IBA SaddleSore 1600K: Shraiyans Mittal recently got Iron Butt Association Saddlesore 1600k certification for riding 1754 kilometers in 24 hours. This makes him one among very limited number of riders around the world who have achieved this feat of riding more than 1000 miles in a single day. He rode his 2011 Bajaj Avenger 220 nicknamed ‘The Beast’ from Bangalore to Wai and came back covering 1814 kilometers on the odometer. As time frame under the India Saddlesore 1600k is fixed, riders need to ride day and night to achieve max distance for this certification. He is now listed as one among toughest rider on Earth. When going for something like Iron Butt 1600k Challenge, a rider needs to be mentally and physically strong enough to take the harsh weather and fatigue in an easy manner. One can imagine riding 8 hours in straight sunshine and other eight in relatively cooler nights with almost complete dependence on the headlight. Also, when starting the ride, they need to keep a track of every possible witness and electronic option like ATM slips, fuel bills and other spending. He took the challenge on Jan 9, 2016 10:16 PM and came back on Jan 10, 2016 9:38 PM. He went through Karnataka and Maharashtra to get enough distance to complete this 1600k feat and not just that, came back to his starting point few minutes prior to the deadline. His Bajaj Avenger 220 seems to help him through all tough times as the most comfortable saddle on road is fitted on this motorcycle. It even has a pillion backrest but this challenge was all about solo and non-stop riding. Congratulations to Shraiyans Mittal for his IBA achievement.
