After the launch of 2016 Hyundai Elantra, India's second largest car maker is getting ready for the launch of yet another premium product, this time the 2016 Hyundai Tucson in India. The arrival period is said to be anytime between October-November 2016. The car would be locally assembled through the CKD kits and may get priced between INR 18-22 lakh.
The new Tucson will be powered by the same 2.0 L petrol engine from Elantra, producing 152 PS and 190 Nm of torque. The other engine on the car is expected to be a 2.0 L CRDi engine producing 150 PS and 184 PS in different states of tune. The AWD system can be provided as an optional equipment on the top spec car while the 6 speed manual and 6 speed automatic gearbox combo's will do the transmission duties.
The car will feature 17 inch alloy wheels while most of its features like 8 inch touchscreen and HID headlights would be carried from the top spec Elantra. It will bring in its own new segment if the prices are kept the same way as the Elantra.
