Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Corporate Variant: A Fresh Comeback

Hyundai has re-introduced the Grand i10 Nios Corporate variant in the Indian market, setting the price range between Rs 6.93 lakh and Rs 7.58 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This variant initially made its debut in 2020 as a limited-run edition but was discontinued in 2021. The relaunched Nios Corporate variant is now available with both manual and AMT (automated manual transmission) options, powered by the same 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine that has been a reliable performer in the lineup.

Strategic Pricing and Positioning

The pricing strategy for the Nios Corporate variant is interesting. It is placed Rs 15,000 above the Magna trim, offering additional features for a modest price increase. On the other hand, it is priced Rs 35,000 lower than the Sportz Executive trim, making it an attractive option for buyers looking for a balance between cost and features. Specifically, the manual version of the Corporate variant is priced at Rs 6.93 lakh, while the AMT version comes at Rs 7.58 lakh.

Enhanced Features in the Corporate Variant

When compared to the Nios Magna trim, the Corporate variant brings several notable upgrades. It boasts dual-tone covers for the 15-inch wheels, adding a touch of style to the vehicle's exterior. Additionally, a new Amazon Grey exterior finish is available exclusively for this variant, along with a distinctive 'Corporate' emblem on the tailgate. Inside, the major highlight is the 6.75-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which enhances the cabin's tech quotient.

However, when comparing the Corporate variant with the higher-end Sportz Executive trim, there are some features that are missing. The Corporate variant does not include a rear camera, rear defogger, projector headlights, alloy wheels, and the larger 8-inch touchscreen found in the Sportz Executive. Moreover, smartphone connectivity options like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also absent in this variant.

Competing with Maruti Swift

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios continues to be a strong contender in the Indian market, primarily competing with the Maruti Swift, which is priced between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 8.89 lakh. With the anticipation of an all-new Swift model expected to launch soon, the competition in this segment is set to intensify. The relaunch of the Nios Corporate variant adds another dimension to Hyundai's strategy, offering a well-balanced option for buyers seeking a blend of style, features, and value.
