Ford’s Affordable EV Platform: A Game-Changer in Electric Mobility

Ford's recent activities in India including filing a patent for the Endeavour, opening new job opportunities and reconsidering the sale of its Chennai plant, have generated discussion about the possible return of the Endeavour to the Indian market. Sources suggest that Ford is preparing for a comeback to Indian sales after suspending operations in 2021. Ford's bounce-back into the Indian scene could mean they're really doubling down on their game here and might just bring something thrilling for the SUV crowd.

Manufacturing Plans

Ford plans to assemble the new Endeavour at its Chennai factory, with the possibility of considering direct imports as well. With the current import regulations allowing for fully-built cars without homologation, Ford could import the Endeavour while preparing for local assembly in 2025. The decision to retain the Chennai plant despite previous attempts to sell it, facilitates Ford's return to manufacturing in India. Since the plant previously produced the previous generation Endeavour, retooling for the new model would be relatively straightforward.
