Exclusive First Look: Tata Punch Facelift Caught on Camera

Tata Motors has been spotted testing the heavily camouflaged Tata Punch facelift indicating that a refreshed model is on the horizon. Expected to hit showrooms by the festive season, the facelifted Punch is anticipated to bring several exterior tweaks, revamped interiors, and a host of new features.

Design Changes

The front profile of the Tata Punch facelift appears sharper suggesting significant design updates compared to the current model. Drawing inspiration from the recently launched EV version, the facelift is likely to sport a new grille design, updated headlights, revised DRLs, refreshed front and rear bumpers, a new alloy wheel design, and revised tail lights. These changes aim to give the Punch a fresh and modern look enhancing its appeal in the competitive subcompact SUV segment.

Upgraded Features

Spy shots of the facelifted Punch reveal a new steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, a feature that is now standard across most Tata cars, including the Punch EV. Expect the facelift to offer additional features borrowed from the EV variant, such as a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a larger 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree parking camera, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, mood lighting, and an air purifier. These features are aimed at enhancing the overall driving experience and making the Punch a more attractive option in its segment.

Powertrain and Safety

The Tata Punch facelift is likely to retain the same 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 85 BHP and 113 Nm of torque. The engine will be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox providing a good balance of performance and efficiency. However, the facelifted version is expected to feature all four disc brakes, a significant safety enhancement over the current model. Additionally, it is expected to come equipped with six airbags, ESP, and ISOFIX as standard across all variants further enhancing its safety credentials and offering peace of mind to buyers.

Expected Launch and Competition

Tata Motors is expected to launch the updated Punch by the end of this year or during the festive season, aiming to capitalize on the festive demand. The Punch facelift will continue to compete directly with the Hyundai Exter, offering buyers a refreshed design, upgraded features, and enhanced safety features. With these updates, Tata Motors aims to strengthen Punch's position in the subcompact SUV segment and attract more buyers looking for a stylish, feature-packed, and safe vehicle
