Ahmedabad-based eNEG Mobility is developing an electric taxi for shared mobility. The company targets an on-road price of ₹4.5 lakh excluding the battery, with a battery subscription planned. It also lists a ₹6.49 lakh on-road target for a version with the battery. Both figures are development targets. Final purchase and subscription terms are still open.

What would fleet operators buy for ₹4.5 lakh?

Under the proposed subscription model, operators would buy the taxi and pay separately for battery access. eNEG is developing a swappable pack and also describes a fixed-battery configuration. The subscription option reduces the battery cost included in the upfront price. The monthly or usage-based charges, swap availability and contract terms will determine the overall cost.

Range and charging are still development targets

eNEG lists a 30–32 kWh LFP battery and a targeted range of 300–320 km. It is aiming for a seven-minute pack swap and a 27-minute DC charge from 10% to 80%. Those figures describe the development programme. Fleet operators will need on-route evidence on range under load, charging or swap downtime, and battery availability before planning vehicle utilisation.

What needs to be known before a fleet order?

Compare the full contract cost for a fixed battery with the subscription option. Check per-kilometre or monthly charges, minimum usage, coverage, downtime arrangements and warranty terms. eNEG has outlined the intended economics. A production specification, delivery schedule and service network will determine whether it suits a particular taxi route.
