EICMA 2018: All-New Kawasaki Z400 (Naked Ninja 400) Officially Unveiled

The wait is over! Kawasaki has finally unveiled the Z400 officially, getting an all-new design and familiar 400cc engine under the frame. The motorcycle features the Sugomi design lines but clearly shows how part sharing was the primary purpose of Kawasaki. Taking a look at both Ninja 400 and Z400 at once show same fuel tank, fenders and exposed frame before the rear seat. They have worked on getting an impressive fuel tank extension, equally impressive headlight and smallest possible visor for street use. The handlebar is different, focused at relaxed riding and getting different set of rear view mirrors. The radiator is also visible in the new Z400. Kawasaki is using a 399cc, twin-cylinder engine producing 45 PS at 10,000 rpm and 38 Nm at 8000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch as standard. The motorcycle weighs just 167 kg and comes with fat 150/60 rear tire. The low 785mm of seat height is also one great option for fans who are average built. The 310mm front disc, along with the rear 220mm disc is similar to the one seen on Ninja 400. The fuel capacity is also similar at 14-liters. Kawasaki Z400 is currently listed in Candy Lime Green/Metallic Spark Black and Candy Cardinal Red/Metallic Flat Spark Black shade on the official UK website. Kawasaki Z400 is expected to launch in India next year with an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 4.00-4.25 lakh.
