According to recent reports, the Toyota Vellfire Premium MPV will launch in India on February 26, 2020. The MPV is the sportier version of the Toyota Alphard available in the international markets. The reports also suggest that the upcoming MPV will be brought to the Indian shores via the CBU route. The bookings for the MPV commenced back in October 2019 while the brand is expected to begin the deliveries sometime after March 2020. Article image The Vellfire features a six-seat setup while gets all the premium features from the brand inside the cabin. The MPV features electrically reclining as well as ventilated power-operated ottomans in the middle row while the brand will be offering the MPV with the ‘Executive Lounge’ package as standard. The Toyota Vellfire has been equipped with sliding doors setup while the MPV features two sunroofs. In addition to this, the brand has equipped the MPV with a powered tailgate while the cabin gets a three-zone automatic climate control system. Apart from this, the other convenience features include the likes of tray tables for the seats, leather upholstery, premium dual 10.2-inch screens for the rear passengers, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, mood lighting and more. Article image Powering the Toyota Vellfire Premium MPV is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid petrol engine that is capable of generating maximum power of 178Bhp and a peak torque of 235Nm. The engine will be mated to an e-CVT transmission while the customers can also avail the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system as an option. One can expect the Toyota Vellfire to be launched in India at a price tag of around INR 80 lakhs though there has been no official confirmation received on the same. Once launched in India, the MPV will compete in the market with the likes of Mercedes-Benz V-class and the recently launched Kia Carnival.
