Tata Motors has officially launched the JTP Series of performance cars in India, with Tiago JTP for INR 6,39,000 and Tigor JTP at INR 7,49,000 (Ex-Showroom Delhi). The pricing makes both the performance cars the best available option in compact hatchback and sedan segment. Tata Motors employ their most powerful 1.2L, three-cylinder turbocharged engine, producing 114 PS at 5000 rpm and 150 Nm at 2000-4000 rpm. The engine comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox, resulting in a 0-100 kph sprint time of 9.95 and 10.38 seconds for Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP respectively. Both cars use 185/60-R15 machine-cut alloy wheels and smaller 175-section spare wheel. The interior on both cars is seen with color coordinated inserts, gloss black highlights and touchscreen system with smartphone navigation. The headlights on both models are now similar, bringing the projector option for the first time on the hot hatch. The upper and lower grill is seen with complete black finish while wing mirrors are seen in contrast with the body color. Tiago JTP rivals Suzuki Baleno RS and Volkswagen Polo GT TSI while Tigor JTP has no direct rival in the country.
