Tata Altroz Scores 5-Star Rating in Global NCAP Crash Tests

After the Tata Nexon, the upcoming Altroz has become the brand’s second car to score a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP crash tests. Tata Altroz is a premium hatchback by the brand which is scheduled to launch on January 22, 2020. The car achieved a score of 16.13 out of 17 for adult occupant protection, and 29 out of 49 points for the child occupant, thus achieving only 3-stars for child occupant protection. Also, the car’s structure and its footwell area were rated as stable. The protection offered on the head and neck area of adult occupants was good whereas chest and calf protection for front adult occupants was rated as adequate. The Tata Altroz will come equipped with dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminder, and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard. In terms of child occupant protection, the report stated that protection levels for the 18-month-old dummy with the child seat installed rearward facing and using the standard ISOFIX anchorages was good.
