Mahindra is gearing up for the launch of their all-new flagship SUV for India on October 9, 2018. As we all are now familiar with its base being a Rexton, the next generation of Ssangyong products will not make into India with their own badge. Apart from mouth-watering offers for their unsold 2017 XUV500 stock, Mahindra is here with up to INR 9.50 lakh off from the price tag of Ssangyong Rexton in India. The discount is valid on limited units of Rexton RX7 variant, resulting in an on-road price of under INR 20 lakh for the premium SUV. This typical variant is presently the flagship model for Mahindra and Rexton in India. Article imageRX7 is powered by a 2696cc, five-cylinder diesel engine, producing 184 bhp at 4000 rpm and 402 Nm at 1600-3000 rpm. The engine comes mated to an automatic gearbox and comes with all-wheel drive layout as standard. This makes the Rexton good for 194 kph of top speed and 10.98 kmpl of certified mileage. The values vary a lot when looking at a manual gearbox variant for the car. RX6 is available with the same engine but offers a lower 162 bhp of maximum output and 340 Nm of torque. The gearbox swap results in 180 kph of top speed and 12.83 kmpl of claimed mileage. Article imageSsangyong Rexton measures 4755mm in length, 1900mm in width, 1785mm in height and 2835mm in wheelbase. Both ends of the car are available with disc brakes while safety features on offer include ABS, switchable ESP, active rollover protection, hill descent control and airbags. The top spec RX7 model offers cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, electric sunroof, memory function for seats and paddle shifters. The full-sized SUV is a great option if you are considering a value for money product under INR 20 lakh (on-road, India).
