MG Hector is about to take the SUV market by storm, and the recent set of live photos for the car reveals every single detail that excited minds would love to know before the official arrival. The commanding stance of the SUV was already praised by most of the critics while the front fascia with split headlight design and well-designed light section is worth giving a special mention. Before its official unveiling event on May 15 in India, the interior details have surfaced to prove the second solid factor for the newcomer. The cabin features a dual tone finish, with huge Tesla-like display in the middle and vertically-placed vents on both sides. The boot space is huge and well-shaped parcel tray will further improve the practicality. The steering wheel of the car is well-designed and offers the same leather finish like the seats. The car is seen with split instrument console with two round pods and a centre-placed MID (Multi Information Display) while the top-model could feature a display to mimic the centre screen controls on the driver’s side. Article image The use of Fiat-sourced 2.0L MultiJet engine on the MG Hector places it right in competition with the Tata Harrier and the Jeep Compass. The output is not yet official while one can expect the same 170 HP maximum power as seen on the Jeep Compass. The Hector is expected to get a starting price tag of around INR 15 lakh (ex-showroom). The pricing factor will decide how well the SUV will perform against its rivals as placing it near to the Tata Harrier will help them attract more buyers in India. The petrol engine buyers are limited for this segment and thus, focus on both the manual and automatic variant of the diesel engine will be MG Motor's first preference. After the official unveiling on May 15, the brand will open the pre-bookings for the Hector SUV while the official launch will take place in June 2019. Article image Article image Images Source
