MG Hector Bookings Closed in India: MG Motor recently launched the Hector SUV in India with a starting price tag of INR 12.18 lakh (ex-showroom). The brand managed to get more than 13,000 bookings in just one month since the launch of the SUV in India. As per the latest buzz, MG Hector is sold out for 2019 as the brand has received a total of 21,000 bookings for the SUV till date and the company has temporarily closed the bookings in the Indian market.

The brand has not yet revealed the details regarding the re-opening of the bookings though, the president and MD of MG Motor India confirmed the development and said that the brand will re-open the bookings for the SUV in the coming months. At present, the production capacity of MG stands at 18,000 units per year, and according to the recent reports, the brand is planning to increase the production to 3,000 units per month starting from October this year.

According to Rajeev Chaba, President & MD, MG Motor India: “Our first product, MG HECTOR, has received an overwhelming response and we are unable to cater to such high initial demand. We are therefore closing bookings temporarily as this will help ensure timely and orderly deliveries for our customers who have shown tremendous confidence in MG. We are also working with our component suppliers to ramp up production in a gradual manner without any compromise on quality.”
