The entry-level hatchback will officially launch in India next week on September 30 while its key specifications and exterior design photos have recently surfaced online ahead of its launch. Article image The customers will be able to avail the Maruti S-Presso in four variants namely Standard, LXi, VXi, and VXi+ which can be further divided into 9 different trims based on the gearbox as well as other equipment. With a boxy silhouette, the S-Presso features a Maruti Jimny-inspired front grille mated to large headlamps. The dual-tone bumpers add to its unique appeal while the hatchback features plastic cladding at the lower half. Based on the HEARTECT platform, the S-Presso's BS6-compliant 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine is capable of generating a maximum power figure of 68 HP and 90 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox while the customers can avail the car with a 5-speed AMT gearbox as well. The brand is likely to offer a practical cabin with the S-Presso in addition to offering an easy-to-use centre console probably equipped a 7-inch SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system. Once launched in India, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is expected to get a starting price tag of around INR 3.50 lakhs (ex-showroom).
