Taking a silent launch route, the BS6 Maruti Suzuki WagonR 1.0 is now available in the market at a price tag of INR 4.42 lakh for the base variant while the price range goes all the way up to INR 5.41 lakh for the top-spec version. The BS6 variants of one of the most cherished hatchbacks from the brand get a premium of around INR 8000 over the BS4 WagonR variants.

Apart from the introduction of the BS6-compliant engine, the hatchback remains cosmetically unaltered. The 1.0-litre BS6 engine on the WagonR is now capable of offering an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 21.79kmpl, which is 0.71kmpl lesser than the 22.5kpl offered by the BS4 variants.

Since the increase in prices for upgradation to the BS6 variants remains minimal, one can expect the sales of the hatchback to not be affected in the coming future. The brand is further planning to work towards reaching 100% of sales for its BS6 variants that now stands at 70% ever since their availability.

One of the most affordable hatchbacks from the brand, the customers can avail the Maruti Suzuki WagonR in 14 variants, out of which six of them have been equipped with a 1.0-litre petrol engine, two of them features a BS4 CNG engine and the remaining have been equipped with 1.2-litre K12B BS6 petrol engine.
