Next-Gen Mahindra Thar Bookings Open (Unofficial): According to a recent report, some of the Mahindra dealerships have started accepting unofficial bookings for the much-awaited next-gen version of the Thar SUV. The new model was earlier expected to launch in April this year but it got delayed due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. As per the latest details available, the 2020 Mahindra Thar will now be launched in the Indian markets in August. The seven-slat vertical front grille and the wide front bumper remain more or less the same while the overall boxy silhouette with the round headlight design and flared up wheel arches accentuates it further. The all-new dual-pod instrument cluster adds to the premium look of the SUV while the brand has offered a vertical MID display in the middle of the speedometer and the tachometer which offers apt riding data. In addition to this, the interior of the updated SUV will feature a touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 2020 Mahindra Thar will get cruise control, automatic climate control and more cabin space for additional comfort. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission while a 4-Wheel-Drive system will be on offer as an option. Once launched in India, the Next-Gen Mahindra Thar is expected to get a starting price tag of around INR 11-12 lakh (ex-showroom).
