Mahindra Thar Adventure Series has made its official entry into the South African market with a long list of pre-installed accessories. The car is using the powerful 2.5L, four-cylinder CRDe unit with high 105 HP of power output and 247 Nm of torque. The engine can be had with just 5-speed manual gearbox and 4x4 as standard. The South African-spec car comes with a different front bumper that improves the approach angle and brings two LED lights integrated into the same. It even comes with an inbuilt bull bar while rear comes with a new bumper with a functional tow bar. Getec-sourced removable canopy brings the perfect hard top feel to the car. Article image Apart from these, the Thar Adventure Series features impressive alloy wheels with Hankook Dynapro tires to improve the overall off-road functionality and improved stance. The Borg Warner system comes with shift-on-the-fly 4x2 and 4x4 option with low and high range. The Adventure Series Thar can be had in DSAT Silver, Rocky Beige and Red Rage shades in South Africa. The off-roader is available with power steering and air conditioner as standard. The same model can go on sale before the launch of 2020 Mahindra Thar with an all-new platform in India. Article image The new model has been spotted on various occasions and most pictures prove that Mahindra is working extensively to improve the driving dynamics and other features of the car. The powerful presence is guaranteed through the improved overall width while the length is also expected to stay slightly under the 4-meter point like the current-gen variant. The suspension setup will see the most improvement as 2019 Thar is said to be a good option for rough roads but comes with a lot of drawbacks for regular driving. The price for the 2.5L CRDe model in India is INR 9.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
