Next-Gen Mahindra Scorpio Z101 SUV Interior Photos: Mahindra has been testing its next-gen Scorpio for quite a long time and the upcoming SUV was recently spotted once again in a new set of spy photos. This time the test mule was spotted near Coimbatore and seems like the lower-spec variant of the SUV. It is heavily camouflaged in the recent photos with lots of temporary parts but offers a look at the interiors of the car. Article image The codename given to the next-gen Mahindra Scorpio is Z101 and it is speculated to be larger than the current-generation model of the SUV and will be longer with an increased wheelbase to offer more legroom to its customers in the second and the third row. Mahindra has also obtained a trademark by the name ‘Scorpio Sting’ and reflects that it will pose a tough competition to all of the mid-size SUVs available in the Indian market. Article image Mahindra could be retaining the ladder-frame underpinning for the next-gen Scorpio Z101 and it could be an evolved version of the same platform that underpins the all-new Thar. The spy images reflect that the interiors of the new next-gen Scorpio are more premium than the current-generation model. It also gets a new multi-function steering wheel, multicolored speedometer, new rear AC vents, and also a provision for the sunroof, which can be expected on the higher-spec trims. Article image The next-gen model of Mahindra Scorpio is expected to continue with the 7-seater sitting plan, while on the exterior, the production-spec SUV will come with projector headlamps with LED DRLs and LED taillights. The higher-spec models will also come equipped with all-new alloy wheels. The evident step in the next-gen Scorpio is the larger footprint of the SUV. The bonnet is longer, the overhangs are longer and it looks wider and much more spacious than the present-gen model. Article image In terms of availability, the next-gen Mahindra Scorpio will go on sale in the Indian markets in the 4th quarter of 2021 and the upcoming SUV is expected to come powered by a 2.0-liter diesel engine with an option for a 6-speed manual and a torque-converter 6-speed automatic transmission.
