Mahindra Funster, a roofless crossover design concept has been recently unveiled by the brand at the Auto Expo 2020 which has begun today itself. Making its global debut at the event, the Mahindra Funster will act as the source of an all-new design language that will be initially implemented on the upcoming next-gen Mahindra XUV500, which is expected to be launched by the end of the year 2020. The upcoming XUV500 will feature an all-new exterior and interior design that will be inspired by the Funster concept. The brand has named the concept as “Funster” since the upcoming sports utility vehicle exhibits a ‘play-for-fun’ character. Article image Coming to the front fascia, the Funster features multiple vertical slats separated by an illuminating Mahindra logo in the middle. The brand has equipped the concept SUV with an all-new inverted L-shaped headlamp design mated to unique LED DRLs. The three-piece foglights have been housed neatly inside the front bumper while the illuminating Funster badge has been imparted to the chin splitter at the bottom. Other appreciated exterior bits include the likes of a roofless windshield design, finned alloy wheels as well as the thin LED tail lamps running across the rear bumper. Article image Coming to the interiors, the brand has imparted the Mahindra Funster electric SUV concept with Mercedes S-Class-inspired dashboard design while a longer touchscreen display is positioned at the middle which further elongates to the touch screen console. The overall design of the interior looks quite futuristic though the production variant of the next-gen Mahindra XUV500 will surely get a toned-down version of the dashboard. The electric powertrain is capable of offering maximum power of 313HP while the top speed stands at 200kmph. The EV can accelerate from 0-100kmph in just 5 seconds. The battery is further capable of offering a range of 520km. It remains to be seen how the brand will make use of the concept traits into the production variant while one can guarantee more news on the thrilling product to be unveiled soon.
