2018 Mahindra XUV500 Launched in India: M&M has officially launched the New XUV500 SUV in India with a starting price tag of INR 12.32 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). This comes as a surprise for Mahindra fans as their face-lifted 2018 XUV500 costs less than their older ex-showroom price. Article imageThe car is highly loaded with features from the base trim itself while top spec variant is offered with lifestyle features for buyers with extraordinary sense of affection with their car. Seven available shades for 2018 XUV500 are Crimson Red, Mystic Copper, Opulent Purple, Volcano Black, Moondust Silver, Pearl White and Lake Side Brown. Range starts from W5 trim at INR 12.32 lakh and ends at W11 AT for INR 17.88 lakh. Unlike the claims made earlier, new XUV500 will carry the powerful 2.2L, four cylinder diesel engine producing 155 BHP at 3750 rpm and 360 Nm at 1750-2800 rpm as stock on all variants. This makes even the W5 variant a value for money alternate to other cars present around this price point. This gearbox is also available as an option on W7, W9 and W11 variant. W5 comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, projector headlamps, power adjustable ORVMs, dual AC and 15cm infotainment screen with Bluetooth. Those going for W7 will get 18cm touchscreen system, Arkansas sound system, auto headlights and wipers, LED daytime running lights, Intellipark system and automatic temperature control. W9 variant is offered with 17 inch alloy wheels, tyre pressure monitoring, hill assist, ESP, electric sunroof, lumbar support, reverse parking camera and front fog lights. Company claimed mileage for 2018 XUV500 is 15.4 kmpl. It will be their flagship product for next few months while later, Mahindra Rexton is expected to take up this charge from XUV500.
