Kia Seltos was officially unveiled in India on June 20, 2019, while the bookings for the SUV commenced yesterday. According to the Korean brand, they have already received 6,046 bookings for the upcoming SUV in just a single day. Out of the total number of bookings, the bookings made by the customers on Kia’s official website stands at 1,628.
Kia Seltos marks the launch of the brand’s arrival in the Indian market while the bookings for the SUV are now open at the company’s showrooms as well as the online website. The brand plans on reaching a wider audience across the country with the launch of new dealerships soon. Kia plans on having a network of 256 touchpoints in India across 160 cities. The Seltos SUV is expected to get a price range of INR 11-17 lakh (ex-showroom).
Mechanically, the SUV will be offered with three engine options, a 1.5-litre Smart Stream petrol engine capable of producing 115 HP of max power and 144 Nm of peak torque, a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine churning out 115 HP and 250 Nm, and a 1.4-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine which generates 140 HP of maximum power along with 242 Nm of peak torque. All the engine options are BSVI-compliant and are available with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
