Kia Grand Carnival to Launch in India @ Auto Expo 2020

Kia Grand Carnival is all set to be launched at the Auto Expo scheduled next year in February. The brand Kia Motors is going to step into the Indian market on August 22 with its Seltos midsize premium SUV. The Grand Carnival will be succeeding after Kia Seltos. The India-Spec model is expected to be equipped with a 2.2-litre CRDi diesel engine capable to generate a maximum power of 202HP and a peak torque of 441Nm. Outside India, the Grand Carnival is also available with a 3.3-litre V6 petrol engine. The MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) is expected to be priced near about INR 25 lakh (ex-showroom). The Kia Grand Carnival in its initial stages of business will be assembled locally in India. The minivan is a halo product for Kia Motors and the company’s experience will help it lay a firm foundation in India. Reports have been there that the South Korean company plans to either come up with all-new products or redesigned ones in India. The Grand Carnival is the third-generation model of an internationally known minivan Kia Sedona, that was introduced around the globe in 2015. Since then, a facelift was pending which provided the company with the idea to launch it in the Indian market after a few changes. The Grand Carnival is going to stand in competition against the Toyota Innova Crysta. The minivan will be retailed as a premium multipurpose vehicle in India. The recent reports state that the redesigned Indian version will be available in a single top-spec trim. Although, the international-spec version of the Grand Carnival is also available with 11 seats whereas the India-spec model will have seven seats mated with ultra-comfortable captain seats in the second row. The Kia Grand Carnival will be made available to the Indian buyers through CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route in which parts are imported from origin country and assembled in the country of business and in this case, it will be assembled in India. Kia looks forward to manufacturing the entire product in the country if the demands are favourable.
