The India-bound next-gen Hyundai i20 hatchback has been spotted in a new set of live photos. It is one of the eagerly anticipated cars that is expected to launch in India later this year or early next year. The next-gen Hyundai i20 will compete in the market with the likes of Maruti Baleno, Tata Altroz, Honda Jazz and the Toyota Glanza while one can expect the price range to be around INR 6-10 lakh (ex-showroom). Article image Based on Hyundai’s Sensuous Sportiness design, the updated i20 is now equipped with a cascading grille at the front that is further finished in a black coating to offer a premium outlook. The brand has offered the hatchback with prominent accents on the body panels adding to its sharper looks while the addition of an LED strip adjoining both the tail lights together adds to its wider stance. Article image Coming to the cabin, the brand has equipped the next-gen Hyundai i20 with a prominent dashboard design which further features the AC vents incarnated in the middle. The cabin is equipped with a 10.25-inch fully-digital instrument cluster in addition to getting a touchscreen infotainment screen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Article image The brand has equipped the updated hatchback with a leather-wrapped steering wheel design while the car can be further operated in three riding modes – Normal, Eco, and Sport. The customers will be able to avail the updated hatchback in three interior trims namely Black Mono, Black/Gray and Black Mono, and Yellow Green. Article image The next-gen Hyundai i20 will be available to the customers with three powertrain options: an 84HP 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, a 90HP 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 120HP 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit. The engines will be mated to a manual gearbox as standard while the turbo petrol engine variant is expected to be available with a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
