According to recent reports, the 2020 Honda City that is expected to be officially launched in the Indian markets in the coming weeks has been awarded a 5-star safety rating in the ASEAN NCAP crash test further proving that the new-gen sedan is one of the safest cars in its class.
The next-gen sedan has been rewarded with 44.83 points in terms of adult occupant protection while the crash test has further offered it 22.82 points for child occupant protection. The overall points recorded for safety assist technologies in the 2020 Honda City stands at 18.89. The test score was offered from a total of 50, 25 and 25 points respectively.
The launch of the updated sedan has been delayed in India due to the coronavirus pandemic though, the 2020 variant of the sedan has been launched already in Thailand. When launched in India, one can expect the new-gen sedan to compete against the likes of 2020 Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid, and the Toyota Yaris.

In the Thai markets, the 2020 Honda city has been equipped with six airbags in addition to getting a tire pressure monitoring system, emergency braking signal, ABS as well as blind-spot visualisation on the infotainment screen.
