The much-awaited BMW X7 SUV has been officially launched in India with a price tag of INR 98.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This exclusive new launch by the popular German brand sits above its previous model X5. BMW is known for its luxurious automobiles that never fails to impress its buyers. The X7 SUV will be available in two engine options namely xDrive40i (Petrol) and xDrive30d (Diesel). Article image The BMW X7 xDrive40i is powered by a 3.0-litre straight-six turbo-petrol engine that has the capability to generate a maximum power of 340HP and a peak torque of 450Nm. On the other hand, the X7 xDrive30d is equipped with a 3.0-litre straight-six turbo-diesel unit that is capable enough to generate a massive torque figure of 620Nm and a max power of 265HP. Both these engine options come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and are also equipped with BMW’s special xDrive four-wheel-drive system with a surface-specific model. Article image The looks of the BMW X7 features an upright front end with slim LED headlights. It also contains BMW’s signature design feature, the kidney grille. The rear end of this SUV has wide LED taillights that are further connected with a strip of chrome. The SUV is a great combination of its dimensions and also its muscular stance. When it comes to the interior, the BMW X7 has equally impressive features. Although it is quite similar to the X5 SUV, still the improvements that the X7 holds is that it has three rows for seating with impressive legroom. The rows come in two types of configurations like six and seven-seater. The rear infotainment system in the SUV features a 12.3-inch massive screen that has Apple CarPlay and gesture control features. Article image The SUV also has a digital instrument cluster and 5-zone climate control. Some of the other key features include a laser light headlamp setup, ambient lighting that is also present on a three-piece glass sunroof, park assist (autonomous parking) and reclining function for all three rows. The BMW X7 xDrive40i will be brought through the Complete Build Unit (CBU) route whereas the X7 xDrive30d will be locally assembled. Article image It is also being said that the German brand will launch a more powerful diesel variant in October this year. Known as X7 M50d, the SUV will come with a 3.6-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine, which would be good for 400HP of power and 760Nm of torque. It will hit the market in competition with other luxurious SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz GLS and the Land Rover Range Rover Sport.
