2020 Audi A8 L Sedan Launched in India: After the launch of Q8 SUV, Audi has launched its flagship luxury sedan A8 L at a price tag of INR 1.56 crore (ex-showroom, India). The car has been launched in a single 55 TFSI petrol variant. The fourth-gen luxury sedan comes featured with cutting edge technology and class-leading features, which puts a great impact on the comfort of rear-seat passengers.
The 2020 Audi A8 L sedan comes in line with Audi's latest design language. It gets a more prominent hexagonal grille, sleeker headlamps (which are now HD Matrix LED units), sharper and slimmer OLED tail lamps connected by a full-width light bar.
Inside the car, the cabin pursuits of an elegant and clean design. The dashboard of this luxury sedan features a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen for controlling navigation along with another 8.6-inch curved display below for operating climate control and other functions. Also, there is an advanced voice command function that adds the ability to control various functions using natural language speech.
Mechanically, the 2020 Audi A8 L comes powered with a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine capable of producing 340HP of maximum power along with 500Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and comes with a permanent all-wheel-drive system.
The luxury sedan can reach from 0-100 kmph in 5.7 seconds (company-claimed) while the top speed of the car stands at 250kmph (electronically limited). The power train of the car is also equipped with a 48V mild-hybrid technology that consists of a belt-starter generator and a 10Ah lithium-ion battery pack. It allows vehicles to reach speeds from 55-160 kmph with the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) switched off for up to 40 seconds.
The luxury sedan focuses on rear passenger comfort with a twin-touchscreen rear-seat entertainment package along with a remote control to operate various features. The 2020 model is also equipped with a footrest mounted on the backrest of the front passenger seat with a foot massager.
The standard safety features on the car include 8 airbags, traction control, ABS, hill-start assist, ESC, and a surround-view camera with 3D view. The flagship Audi A8 L will rival the likes of BMW 7-series, Jaguar XJ L, Mercedes-Benz S-class and Lexus LS500h in our market.
