Yamaha R15 is the most problem-free motorcycle of India, scoring 86 points on the JD Power survey where the industry average for the segment was quite high at 129 points. Not just the premium segment, Yamaha FZ/FZS also scored the best position among the upper executive segment with 108 points. The segment average here was 125 points while bikes with higher than usual complaints were also listed alongside.
The number for scooters is also lower than most motorcycles but, R15 had the best possible result that clashed with Activa-i at 86 points. Yamaha is known for the best quality motorcycles and their new league of motorcycles balances the practicality along with added safety. The Yamaha R15 is known as the benchmark performer for the 150cc segment and MT-15 was spawned out of the popular racer with totally different dynamics. It is yet to enter any of the lists as buyer preferences are still focused towards the faired racer.
On this occasion, Mr Motofumi Shitara, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India said: “It’s a great honour as Yamaha’s products have been acknowledged in the whole industry as the topmost quality-oriented motorcycles in the premium and upper executive categories. As the survey has collected user feedback, this award will naturally carry customer testimonials about Yamaha’s uniqueness. Further, the prestigious survey rank will be instrumental to drive Yamaha’s marketing initiatives as the brand is now building up its share in the premium segment. The testimony of good quality upon the already popular technologies that Yamaha has provided in the YZF-R15 and FZ/FZS motorcycles will usefully guide the purchase decisions of new customers. We thank J.D. Power as this survey has recognized Yamaha for such coveted positions. As an exciting brand, we will continue with our hard work to bring more style and sportiness into our products and experiences in the future.”
