At first, the planned wheelie was for 600 kilometers but intense pain after 500 kilometers forced Abe to stop after 13 hours. The location for this stunt was Kawaguchi Aut Race track in Saitama, Japan. Yamaha Jog was fitted with an extra fuel reservoir while changes were even made to its rear to fix a backrest for the rider's ease. The first two hours resulted in back pain which was initially tackled by pain killers. It was one of the most insane two wheeled act around the world. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzHSL_DESuwVideo: 500 kms Wheelie World Record by Masaru Abe (Source: The Guardian)
Masaru Abe said: “I thought if I was going to try and break the record, then I would have to post unattainable numbers that would leave people totally speechless. That was the most pain I’ve ever felt. Both of my arms were numb from the pain and I had lost feeling in them. My vision was blurred. I was only partially conscious. I was completely dehydrated. I’d never experienced that before.”
