According to a recent report from Moneycontrol, Okinawa Autotech is all set to enter the electric motorcycle market with the introduction of its debut bike in the coming months. The brand currently features electric scooters in its portfolio while the upcoming Okinawa electric bike will compete in the market with the likes of Revolt RV range though getting an affordable price tag.
The report also adds that the Okinawa electric bike will get a price tag in the sub-INR 1 lakh category, which will give it a competitive edge in the market in comparison to the Revolt RV400, which is available at a price tag of INR 1.47 lakh for the top-spec variant and INR 1.29 lakh for the lowest-spec variant. In addition to this, the RV300 gets a price tag of INR 1.11 lakh in the Indian market.
Commenting on the much-awaited launch of the electric motorcycle, Jeetender Sharma, Managing Director, Okinawa Electric Scooters, stated - “After the successful launch of the PraisePro electric scooter where we have got very encouraging bookings we are now looking to launch our first electric motorcycle. This will be a premium offering but we know the importance of pricing and that is why we will price it below Rs 1 lakh.”
Comparing the upcoming motorcycle with the recently unveiled Revolt RV400 top-spec variant, the Okinawa electric bike will register a top speed of 100kmph and a total range of 150km. The brand is likely to equip the motorcycle with a fully-digital instrument console, LED lights set up at either end as well as a removable battery and USB charger for quick charging.
In addition to this, the electric two-wheeler manufacturer has also announced festive offers for its electric scooters that have been registered under the FAME II subsidy. The limited period festive offers are valid till October 31, 2019, and offers the customers with an assured discount ranging up to INR 1,000. Some of the lucky draw winners can also get their hands-on several electronic items listed under the festive offers.
