2018 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R SE Unveiled: 2018 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R SE has been launched in the US for $15,499 (approx INR 10.08 lakh, without taxes). Kawasaki is using a special paint scheme for SE branded models where a perfect combination of Ninja Green and Gloss Black is achieved for that typical Ninja feel. It is also available in Storm Grey with Candy-tone Orange.
Apart from this paint scheme, Kawasaki offers a lot more in terms of equipment and premium features. The motorcycle comes with drilled and anodized steering stem unit, dark themed oil reservoirs, stainless steel clutch and brake lines and flagship Brembo 4-piston M50 monobloc calipers for best speed shredding experience.
The engine powering Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R SE is 1441cc, 4-cylinder unit producing 200 HP at 10,000 rpm and 158.2 Nm at 7500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Buyers can drive the same in both high and low power mode, out of which latter restricts the overall output to 75% of peak performance.
That helps in extracting impressive efficiency out of such a big engine. Top speed of the motorcycle is rated at 335 kmph. Standard variant of the motorcycle costs INR 19.70 lakh (ex-showroom) in India and getting the more powerful variant here will take the price up by INR 3-4 lakh.
The bodywork of Ninja ZX-14R is wind tunnel tested and thus, rider can enjoy triple digit speeds all day without even breaking a sweat on ZX-14R. Kawasaki offer 43mm upside down telescopic forks for front suspension duties while rear uses Uni-trak gas charged shock absorber.
US market gets 12 months of standard warranty while buyer can choose between four different additional protection plans. The frame used here is built out of aluminum while 120 and 190mm tyres make the fact sure that you never lose traction while riding. It even comes with multiple traction control settings and ABS as standard.
