BS6 Honda Activa in the Making; To Get New Connectivity Features

All-New BS6 Honda Activa in the Works: Activa has maintained its position as the highest selling scooter in India for decades now. Despite seeing a downfall of 4% in the total sales of Honda Activa, the brand managed to sell almost 30 lakh units of the same in the last year. As many other powerful scooters are entering the Indian market, the competition seems to be getting tougher day by day. Commenting on the decline in the sale, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, senior vice-president and operating head, HMSI stated in an interview: "Even after declining 4 per cent, it still emerged at the top of the Indian two-wheeler market at a time when more 100cc scooters were selling than ever before." In order to compete with the growing competition, the brand is planning to unveil the all-new BS6 Honda Activa in the coming months. In addition to this, the new Activa will be based on an entirely new platform. The brand has been adding several features to the next-gen Activa in order to meet the changing customer demands as well as the modern trends. According to the reports, the BS6 Honda Activa will have new connectivity features and many more surprising features to make the sales rank high again. Commenting on the additional surprising features, Mr Yadvinder added: "Connectivity is one of the things (on the new Activa). Similarly, there are many other new features that the customer might not be aware of and could come as a surprise. I would like to tell them, ‘Please wait for those surprises!" In addition to this, the brand is also planning on revamping its entire lineup of two-wheelers to make its presence known in the premium segment.
