According to information we've received, Bajaj intends to bring back the Avenger 220 Street in India after it was discontinued back in 2020. It will feature a conventional cruiser design but share the same engine as the Avenger 220 Cruise which is also present in the freshly revived Pulsar 220F.
The same 220cc air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine, paired with a 5-speed gearbox, will power 220 Street. It produces 19 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 17.55 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. It will receive a fairly simple suspension setup with a telescopic fork and two shock absorbers, much like the other Avenger models. Quite likely, the brakes will function similarly to the 220 Cruise, with a front disc and a rear drum.
The Avenger 220 Street will have alloy wheels, more blacked-out bodywork, and a smaller front windscreen than the Avenger 220 Cruise, which is presently for sale. The forthcoming 220 Street will more closely resemble the Avenger 160 Street in terms of appearance.
The pricing of the Avenger 220 Cruise is presently Rs 1,38,368 (ex-showroom, Delhi), and we anticipate 220 Street to be marginally less expensive. The Avenger's Street version has often been less expensive than the Cruise model.
