Bajaj to Reportedly Discontinue the Pulsar 220F in India This Year

Bajaj Auto has recently added two new bikes, the F250 and N250, to its current Pulsar lineup. And now it is being said that the company is planning to discontinue some of its existing bikes. According to the latest reports and also mentioned by some of the leading auto portals, the Pulsar 220F is the bike to be discontinued first. The production of the Pulsar 220F has apparently halted, with the last batch of bikes coming off the production line. The Bajaj Pulsar 220F is now available at Rs 1.34 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be available till supplies run out.

With its semi-fairing, aggressive design, and lively engine, the Pulsar 220F made a major splash in the affordable sporty motorcycle segment when it debuted in 2007. The 220F carved its reputation even further in the Indian motorcycle industry, from daily commutes to exciting weekend trips. However, with the passage of time and the introduction of new technology, the Pulsar 220F will be unable to compete. But it is also the fact that Indians still love this bike and 4,108 units sold in September month only proves that.

The 220cc oil-cooled and 2-valve motor produce 20.4 PS at 8500 RPM and 18.55 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM. Furthermore, the bike’s 15-litre fuel tank and partial fairing made it an ideal companion for short journeys. However, because the next generation 250cc Pulsars were already on the market, the Bajaj Pulsar 220F had to be phased out. It’s worth noting that, while the Pulsar F250 costs Rs. 6000 more than the older 220F, it’s more powerful, has a larger front brake, and looks much more trendy.
