A new entrant to the Audi “Q” line-up has been unveiled at the dawn of the 86th Geneva Motor Show today – The premium yet affordable Audi Q2. The Audi Q2 which looks a little different than it's older siblings, is all set to make a firm mark in the growing small SUV segment. Static photo, Colour: Vegas Yellow The design of the new Q2 is inspired from Cross-lane coupe concept unveiled in Paris in 2012. On the front, the car features a fresh single-frame grille, a pair of air inlets and slightly squarish headlights. The baby Audi has quite high a shoulder line with a tapering roof-line giving it a sleek sporty look. On the back, the car gets an R8-style blade on the C-pillars which have been painted in counterpoise colors enhancing the car's dapper sporty look. The car gets plastic body cladding around the wheels and a sleek set of indicators. The newly designed LED taillights add to the car's youthful charm. Interior Coming to the interiors, the car gets the conventional Audi cabin design and a standard 5.8 inch MMI screen mounted on the instrument cluster. Audi offers a head-up display and an 12.3 inch all-digital virtual cockpit instrument cluster as extras. The car also gets an LED ambient lighting system which has the ability to comprehend the light coming through the panel gaps in the dash-board. The safety features of the car include a standard Audi pre-sense, adaptive cruise control, departure warning, traffic jam assist, lane-keeping assistant etc. Interior On the engine front, the baby Audi will offer 6 variants – A turbocharged three-cylinder 1.0, 1.4 and 2.0 liter TFSI. The diesel range includes a 1.6 liter TDI and more powerful 2.0 TDI, with a tuned version also available. The power output will range from 116 bhp in the 1.0 liter engine to 190 bhp in 2.0 liter petrol. The engines will paired to a six-speed manual gearbox, with an optional seven-speed-dual clutch AT available fol all units. Dimensionally, this urban cross-over is 4.19m in length, 1.79m in width and 1.51m in height, the wheelbase of the car spans across 2.6m and it will be available in a five-door, five-seat format. Audi will launch the Q2 in Autumn, with bookings starting around mid- 2016 in Europe. The car is expected to carry a base price-tag of £22,000.
