Ather Energy is gearing up for the launch of its family scooter, the Ather Rizta, scheduled for April 6, 2024, during Ather Community Day. Pre-bookings for the scooter are now open on the company's website for a nominal fee of Rs 999.
Key Features of the Ather Rizta
The Ather Rizta is designed with families in mind and will boast a larger seat compared to the Ather 450X. In fact, the company's CEO claimed that Rizta's seat would be the largest in the market. Additionally, the scooter is expected to offer significant underseat storage space surpassing the 22-litre capacity of the Ather 450X.
A recent teaser highlighted the scooter's water wading capacity showing it navigating through approximately 1.3 feet of water. The teaser also revealed a wide apron with an apron-mounted LED headlight with the DRL positioned at the bottom of the headlight cowl.

Durability and Updates
The battery's durability was tested in a teaser, where it was dropped from a height of 40 feet, equivalent to a four-story building, and remained intact. Alongside the launch of the Rizta, Ather Energy will also introduce the new Atherstack 6 OTA update and a smart accessory named 'Halo,' which is likely to be a smart helmet.
Pricing and Competition
The Ather Rizta is expected to be priced around Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom) and will compete with other electric scooters such as the TVS iQube, Hero Vida V1 Pro, Ola S1 Air, and Bajaj Chetak.
