Aprilia Tuono 457 Seen During Testing – Possible India Launch

Aprilia enthusiasts have reason to rejoice as the anticipated naked version of the Aprilia RS 457, possibly named the Aprilia Tuono 457, has been spied on during testing in Europe. The anticipation for this variant was subtly hinted at by the design head a few days ago, and now, the first glimpses of the test mule have surfaced.

Upon initial observation, the test mule exudes the aura of a modern retro motorcycle. However, it's plausible that the motorcycle manufacturer is evaluating the Tuono in a camouflaged guise or, intriguingly, preparing to unveil an entirely new product built upon the 457 platform.

Positioned strategically in the Aprilia lineup, the upcoming motorcycle is expected to be positioned below the Aprilia RS 457, aiming to offer an appealing option at a price point lower than the RS 457's launch price of Rs. 4.1 lakhs (ex-showroom). Currently in the developmental phase, the new bike is slated to be produced in India at Aprilia’s Baramati plant, catering to both domestic and international markets.

The prototype motorcycle showcases distinctive features including an upside-down fork at the front and a box-section rear swingarm complemented by a single shock absorber. It is anticipated to house the same twin-cylinder engine that powers the RS 457, delivering 47.6 BHP and 43.5 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. As the development progresses motorcycle enthusiasts eagerly await more details about this exciting addition to the Aprilia lineup.
