Aprilia has finally introduced the Tuareg 660 in India, launching at a price range of Rs 18.85 lakh to Rs 19.16 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Alongside this launch, the company has revised the prices for other models in its lineup including the RSV4 Factory and the 660 twins, reflecting the latest updates to their offerings.

The Tuareg 660 is equipped with a liquid-cooled, 659cc parallel-twin engine that produces 80hp and 70Nm of torque. This adventure bike is designed to be both powerful and lightweight, tipping the scales at 204kg when fully fueled. Its off-road capabilities are enhanced by a fully adjustable suspension system provided by KYB, offering 240mm of wheel travel, which promises competent handling in rugged terrains.

Design and Construction

The Tuareg 660 features a tubular steel frame with the engine integrated as a stressed member, similar to its siblings in the 660 series. It sports a 21-inch front and an 18-inch rear wire-spoked wheel setup, equipped with tubeless Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires. This setup is ideal for off-road adventures, combined with a high seat height of 860mm, which may pose a challenge for shorter riders.

Advanced Riding Assists and Electronics

Aprilias are known for their advanced electronics and the Tuareg 660 is no exception. It includes multiple levels of traction control, engine braking settings, cruise control, four riding modes, and switchable dual-channel ABS. These features enhance the riding experience by providing more control and customization according to different riding conditions and preferences.

Pricing and Variants

The Tuareg 660 is available in two color options, Atreides Black and Canyon Sand, each priced at Rs 18.85 lakh, and a special Dakar Podium livery priced at Rs 19.16 lakh. The introduction of this model expands Aprilia’s adventurous offerings in India and is set to appeal to enthusiasts looking for a high-performance, versatile adventure bike.

In addition to launching the Tuareg 660, Aprilia has updated the pricing for the RS 660, Tuono 660, and RSV4 Factory. The RS 660 and Tuono 660 now start at Rs 17.74 lakh and Rs 17.44 lakh respectively, showing a significant price increase. The high-end RSV4 Factory now comes at Rs 31.26 lakh. These models are known for their performance and come with substantial equipment upgrades to justify the premium pricing.

These motorcycles are all imported directly from Noale, Italy, and require a 50% booking deposit with an approximate waiting period of three months, which may extend due to demand. Despite the high price and limited dealership network, these motorcycles cater to a niche market of discerning customers in India.
