Chinese two-wheeler manufacturer Zontes has unveiled the ZT 500. It is a maxi-scooter that will compete with the Yamaha T-Max in the Chinese market. This brand-new Zontes scooter is large in size and has a curved shape. The Zontes ZT 500 has a split-style floorboard and a step-up seat. The twin-pod headlights, a big windscreen, and a split-style pillion grabrail are present as stylistic features.
A performance-packed engine complements the powerful design. A 491cc, single-cylinder engine with a max output of 46 hp and a peak torque of 53 Nm powers this maxi-scooter. This motor is based on the Zontes ZT 350, the company's 349cc maxi-scooter. This larger-displacement maxi-scooter in Zontes' product line has a top speed of 160 km/h.
The Zontes ZT 500's hardware includes dual-channel ABS along with disc brakes on each of the wheels that are operated by callipers from J. Juan. The scooter has tubeless tyres on both ends, with 15-inch wheels that are fitted with 120/70-section front and 160/60-section rear tyres. The suspension is taken care of by twin rear springs and telescopic front forks.
It is unlikely that the Zontes ZT 500 would be released in India. But Zontes currently partners with Adishwar Auto Ride India to operate in our market. It provides five products: 350R, 350X, GK 350, 350T, and 350T ADV in the Indian market.
