The 2025 Tucson has an expressive, bold appearance with the 'Parametric Dynamics' design language and dynamic, jewel-like surface detailing, ensuring its own identity in today's congested SUV market. Tucson's exterior styling has been overhauled for 2025, giving it a more grounded, substantial appearance thanks to a new grille, reworked front and rear bumper fascia, and an updated daytime running light signature. The deliberate improvements include new alloy wheels, anodized aluminum badging, and a 75-mm longer rear wiper blade for better vision. The front fascia style changes include thicker vertical grille pieces for a more tough, stable appearance. Tucson's famous daytime running light signature has been streamlined from ten lighting regions to eight larger units for a more visible presence, day and night. New bridge-type elevated roof side rails enhance the outdoors-oriented XRT's capacity and toughness.

Redesigned Interior and Infotainment

The 2025 Tucson's interior may be the most significant update of all due to a more open-feeling design and a more advanced, yet easier-to-use infotainment interface. This cabin upgrade includes a revised panoramic curved display with an optional 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a larger 12.3-inch infotainment panel. A new center stack now incorporates additional knobs and switchgear for frequently used driver settings such as audio volume and tuning, as well as select HVAC controls for significantly better ergonomics. The center console, steering wheel, and door panel accents have all been overhauled for a fresh look and improved use. A redesigned dashboard tray placed above the glovebox provides more storage space for front-seat occupants.

Smartstream Powertrain Line-up

?The 2025 Tucson has a Smartstream 2.5-liter direct-injected and multi-port-injected gasoline engine, as well as 1.6-liter direct-injected, turbocharged hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrain options. High-efficiency combustion allows the 2.5-liter four-cylinder Smartstream engine to produce 187 horsepower at 6,100 rpm and 178 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,000 rpm.

Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid Powertrains

The 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine in the hybrid powertrain generates an estimated 178 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque, for a total hybrid system horsepower of around 231. This hybrid system also generates an estimated 258 lb.-ft. of torque, owing to a powerful 47.7-kW electric motor (formerly 44.2 kW) and a 1.49-kWh lithium-ion battery. The Tucson Hybrid's considerable power is delivered through a specifically tuned six-speed automatic transmission, resulting in smooth, quiet, and efficient performance.

Plug-in hybrid variants include a high-output 1.6-liter turbocharged, direct-injected four-cylinder engine, a specially tuned six-speed automatic transmission, and a more powerful electric motor (72.0 kW, up from 66.9 kW). The total system output for the Plug-in Hybrid is rated at 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The Plug-In Hybrid battery is larger than the Hybrid pack and provides 13.8 kWh of lithium-ion electricity. The PHEV's battery can be recharged in less than two hours with Level 2 AC charging via its 7.2-kW onboard charger.
