2024 Yamaha R3 Makes Official Debut - Gets New Colours & Features

For MY2024, Yamaha has included some new features and three new colours to the popular R3 sports bike. The first country to receive the 2024 Yamaha R3 is Japan. The launch took place recently, and the brand is quoting a price of JPY 726,000 (tax included), which is equivalent to Rs 4.40 lakh (approximately). The Yamaha R3 didn't require a lot of componentry, therefore the MY2024 update doesn't have a lot of upgrades for it.

The Indian auto market is particularly interested in this model since we anticipate its launch soon. When it is released, the YZF-R3 will compete against the KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Ninja 400. The 2024 Yamaha R3 is offered in three new colours, precisely like its predecessor, the classic Metallic Black, Deep Purplish Blue Metallic, and Dark Bluish Purple Metallic, but with new graphics and stickers.

We expect that the MY2024 Yamaha R3 will also come with all the new features in India. The MY2024 upgrade from Yamaha includes standard fitment for LED turn indicators. The new LED turn indicators, which compliment the fashionable LED headlights and LED tail lights, blend in beautifully from the front and back.

A quick shifter is one of the additional features, but Yamaha does not supply it as standard equipment. Instead, potential purchasers must fork up JPY 22,000 (approx Rs. 13,325). We're unsure if it supports clutchless downshifts and upshifts, or just one of them.

The heart of R3 continues to beat and pulse as previously. This has a liquid-cooled, 4V head, parallel twin engine with 320cc displacement, and a DOHC system. With a 6-speed transmission, this engine produces 30 Nm of torque at 9,000 RPM and 42 PS of power at 10,750 RPM.

The componentry consists of 110/70-17 front and 140/70-17 rear tyres, as well as USD front telescopic forks and rear mono-shock. Yamaha offers twin-channel ABS and single-disc arrangements on both ends. R3 receives a digital LCD display with few features. The launch in India is expected to occur before Diwali and the 2024 model of Yamaha R3 might cost up to Rs 4 lakh (expected ex-showroom price).

Is the launch of Yamaha R3 ABS & Red colour related with the launch of MT-03 in India?
2022-12-29 05:59:43 AM
Yamaha MT-03's launch in India has not yet been scheduled by the company and it is possible that R3 may get ABS when the MT-03 gets launched in the country. The parts on both the motorcycles are common and Yamaha may increase the amount of localization, in order to keep the prices same and add ABS to the R3 in India. The Red shade can also be expected if the R3 gets the same Red shade for its naked body structure. The sales number of R3 is another factor on which the Red shade's launch indirectly depends. Both the bikes use a 321cc, 2-cylinder motor producing 41.4 BHP and 29.6 NM of torque.
When the Yamaha R3 will be launched in Red colour and with ABS version in India ?
2022-12-29 05:59:35 AM
The ABS version would be launched in the current year and bringing Red into the country cannot be confirmed yet. The bike looks excellent in the Red shade whereas Yamaha currently sells the Blue and Black shade in the country. Yamaha is popular for its GP Blue shade and most of the R3's sold are of the same shade. Yamaha may increase the localization and start selling the ABS, Red colored R3 in the country. The twin cylinder 321 cc engine on the same produces 41.4 BHP and 29.6 NM of torque.
Does Yamaha R3 has got massive sound like YZF-R1?
2022-12-29 05:59:07 AM
Yamaha R3 comes with a light sound when compared to the roar of the R1. The sound difference comes with the number of cylinders being used in a bike. The Yamaha R1 is a 4-cylinder machine with specially composed exhaust note for different range of rpm's whereas the R3 comes with a twin cylinder arrangement and quiet natural exhaust sound. R3 comes with a 321cc engine producing 41.4 BHP @ 10,750 rpm and 29.6 NM @ 9,000 rpm. The gearbox is a constant mesh, 6-speed manual unit. R3 comes with a price tag of INR 3,25,000.
Why didn’t Yamaha launch the Red & White Yamaha R3 in India?
2022-12-29 05:58:17 AM
Yamaha has launched the much awaited R3 in Racing Blue and Lightning Black shade only. The reason for the same would be the lower probability of sale of the Red shade in India. Yamaha sells most of its bikes in its signature Blue shade and limited edition models are mostly showcased in other shades. It also raises the probability of launch of the Red and White shade in a limited edition model, depending upon the sales of the current shades of the bike. Yamaha powers the R3 with a twin cylinder 321 cc engine and every unit of the same is imported via CKD route. In that, the company sends completely knocked down units of bikes, which are assembled locally. Yamaha R3 has been price at INR 3,25,000 for the current shades.
